Reinstalling the game didn't solve the issue, but your idea of reinstalling drivers ended with me taking the plunge with Losti's driver tool.

The fix page on Helix Mod makes no mention of a profile change, so I don't know what it is doing there no luck at any rate (if this topic was covered in a forum I missed it).
